Forest bathing

Do you find yourself glued to your phone and in need of a digital detox? Many of us live a digital lifestyle where technology integrates into almost every aspect of our lives. We have learnt to manage the relentless notifications that demand our attention and have got used to the subtle erosion of our work-life boundaries. But this ceaseless connectivity, information overload and constant demands imposed by our digital devices is not good for our wellbeing. Spending time in nature in particular woods can reduce our blood pressure, lower cortisol levels, and even boost our immune system through the trees release of phytoncide chemicals. Forest bathing is a powerful practice which encourages us to slow down and use all our senses to observe the natural world. We are delighted to offer a forest bathing event in the Woods at Oakley guided by the lovely Jola, an experienced facilitator who has written some beautiful bespoke meditations for us. The quintessentially British springtime scene of the enchanting bluebell forest floor provides a stunning backdrop for our event. Whilst the Woods at Oakley are an ancient woodland there are plenty of amenities including ample parking, toilets and gravel tracks. If it is a little chilly, we have a cosy fire pit to warm up by and a stretch canvas that we can use if the elements are against us. We will also provide a delicious plant based grazing buffet and some herbal tea if all the fresh air leaves you a little peckish.
