Lucid Dreaming, Conscious Dying

In this new two-day workshop, lucid dreaming teacher Charlie Morley will explore how lucid dreaming has been practiced for millennia to prepare for the moment of death. Drawing on the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism (of which he is part) the workshop will look at how lucid dream training as well as training in lucid living can help us to wake up to life and start to prepare for the inevitable journey into the bardo. We will explore how the concept of conscious dying can be used to revolutionise our view of our own mortality, as we find that awareness of death leads to increased clarity in our waking lives, allowing us to live more lucidly and use our dreams to prepare for the final sleep of our lives. In this workshop Charlie will explore: • How to lucid dream • The Tibetan Buddhist view of death and dying • The 49 day after death bardo journey • The 6 realms of samsaric existence and their psychological correlates • How to use the lucid dream and OBE as preparation for a conscious death • How to prepare for death practically (end of life instructions/living wills/death cafés) So, let’s go deeply into the mystery, remove the stigma of discussing death and learn how to dream lucidity and die consciously! Charlie Morley is a best-selling author and teacher of lucid dreaming and shadow work. He was 'authorised to teach' within the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism by Lama Rinpoche in 2008 and has since developed a holistic approach to dream work called Mindfulness of Dream and Sleep and written three books which have been translated into 11 languages. He has spoken at Cambridge University, The Houses of Parliment, the Innovation in Vajrayana Buddhism conference in Bhutan and is a regular expert panelist for The Guardian. He has been named one of The Next Generation of Meditation Teachers. In 2018 he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship grant to research mindfulness based PTSD treatments and continues to teach on retreats for armed force veterans.

College of Psychic Studies
HOST:
College of Psychic Studies - The College was founded in 1884 by a group of eminent scholars and scientists. Its purpose was to facilitate formal investigation into the psychic and mediumistic phenomena that were such a topic of debate in the Victorian era. With great courage, this group of distinguished people, some notable in science, others from within the ranks of the Anglican clergy, defied the prevailing canons of respectability in order to proclaim to a world of increasing materialism that human personality survives bodily death and that this is capable of demonstration.
