Book Club: Self Discovery at The Hamblin Centre

Book Club: Self Discovery Through Six Seminal Books. A new study group with Tracey McEachran. Attendance at each session is recommended for full benefit. An insightful journey into personal development through six titles. Some work between sessions will be required. “Never underestimate the power of a group to facilitate positive change for the individual.” Tracey McEachran 19 January: Book 1 - The Chimp Paradox by Steve Peters Using the thinking from the Chimp Paradox to better understand our emotional drivers. We will learn how we can take a more control of our emotions and then take an active role in how we respond to people and situations. 16 February: Book 2 - The Compassionate Mind by Paul Gilbert Learn how to embrace your compassion mind to be more kind to yourself and others and to diminish the power of the inner critic. 16 March: Book 3 - The Path: A New Way to Think About Everything by Professor Michael Puett and Christine Gross-Loh We will take an exploration into the key teachings from ancient Chinese philosophers to rethink how we can live a good life. 20 April: Book 4 - Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett Using design thinking to explore different possibilities for living your life by design. 18 May: Book 5 - The Happiness Advantage: The 7 Principles of Positive Psychology by Shawn Achor Understand how to reframe your thinking to become the captain of your own life. Learn about the 7 building blocks to leading a happier life. 15 June: Book 6 - The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen Learning it is the small things we do every day that have the biggest impact. Set and achieve goals, explore how to stay on track and build momentum to achieve our goals. Advance booking only. £15 per individual session or £60 for the whole course.
