We are delighted to welcome Lama Rod Owens back to Burlington for an evening talk and discussion. An international voice in contemporary Dharma and a self-described Black Buddhist Southern Queen, Lama Rod's work fearlessly bridges identity, social change, and deep spiritual practice. His teachings center on freedom, self-expression, and radical self-care. We hope you will join us for this transformative evening. This event is open to the public and will include an interactive talk with Lama Rod and guided meditation practice. No experience with meditation is necessary to attend. All are welcome. Chairs are available on-site, there will also be space available for your meditation cushion if you'd like to bring one. This event is hosted by the Burlington Dharma Collective. Lama Rod is the co-founder of Bhumisparsha, a Buddhist tantric practice and study community. He holds a Master of Divinity degree in Buddhist Studies from Harvard Divinity School where he focused on the intersection of social change, identity, and spiritual practice. He is the author of The New Saints: From Broken Hearts to Spiritual Warriors, Love and Rage: The Path of Liberation Through Anger, and co-author of Radical Dharma, Talking Race, Love, and Liberation, which explores race in the context of American Buddhist communities. Lama Rod has been a teacher with the Daishin Zen Buddhist Temple, the Urban Yoga Foundation, Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme), a visiting teacher with Natural Dharma Fellowship and the Brooklyn Zen Center.
