Much expanded knowledge on health and wellness having acquired Doctor of Chiropractic degree three decades ago!

My story: Finding myself in Australia in my early twenties, a variety of interesting experiences indicated there would be much satisfaction in a career dedicated to helping others. I looked into the careers in healthcare and decided on the direction of medical doctor. Being in Australia, a ‘from scratch’ education to MB.BSc would take around 9 years as I had left school with no formal qualifications. I returned home to several years of arduous study to achieve the necessary ‘O’ levels and ‘A’ levels. Naively, I allowed someone to convince me that in my mid twenties I would never get a place at medical school. I applied to Royal Holloway College to take a degree in biochemistry -perceiving this to be the ‘backdoor’ into medicine. Virtually all others on the course thought the same! It was also astonishingly arduous, I really did not enjoy it (but did develop a real skill at pinball!) and departed after the first year. I also met a lady there, who was to become my first wife. Regrettably, insufficient attention meant our relationship struggled to last eighteen months -my fault entirely. At the termination of our relationship I decided I was ‘definitely going back’ on the pathway to a medical career. I sought a lodger to share the house. The first candidate to appear had recently graduated as a chiropractor. Within two days he changed the course of my life!

Some five years later I graduated as a chiropractor.
For approaching a year I practiced as a ‘back pain doctor’.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED SPINAL CORRECTION?
Is your body working perfectly? Good clues can be found separately in your posture, general health and overall mobility.
As an example: You may have a problem or discomfort with your:
•shoulder, elbow or wrist,
•hip, knee or ankle,
possibly your:
•digestive system, heart, lungs, sinuses
or
•energy, irritability, concentration, stress-handling, sleep
or any other system of the body. Very few make the association with a malfunctioning spine.
If this problem has happened once, you got some help and it all cleared up -success!
If a problem is persistent, alleviating the symptoms is never going to correct the problem. Worse than this, an uncorrected problem will almost certainly interfere with other body systems (even if you cannot feel anything wrong), because ALL body systems are driven and controlled by our nervous system (less than 10% of our nervous system is responsible for detecting, transmitting and demonstrating symptoms).
