Do We Resist Love?

Do We Resist Love?

Everyone desires to be loved. It is one of the most basic desires of life on earth for all living things. Humans have a need for love because that is what we are at a soul level. The Creator is pure love, and as an intrinsic part of the Creator, we are also that love.

So, what happens to us when part of our divine soul incarnates into a human body? The way life is set up on earth while occupying a body, we forget our connection to the Source, moreover, that we are Source. Whether we go on this journey in life consciously seeking love, or as some do unconsciously seeking love, it drives our existence here.

Studies have shown that even plants respond to love growing larger and healthier when it is directed at them.

So, do we resist this love that we are constantly seeking? I know that I do anytime I am not in the space of love, peace, or joy as these feelings are the natural state of our being. We continually pursue love from the world looking outside for it to grace us with the feeling it beholds, yet we already are that love, so would not it be wise to turn our attention to the love that we are and the love we must have for ourselves? As has been stated by many a sage, we must come to love ourselves and those deep dark aspects that we have kept hidden from the world as well as our own selves.

When we judge ourselves, criticize ourselves or don't accept ourselves, we resist the inherent love of ourselves and the Creator. Some people resist love that is offered to them from the world in general. How, by not noticing, or accepting a smile from a friend, partner, or stranger. Not thanking someone for opening a door for you, or maybe not accepting a compliment.

Are our thoughts about ourselves, others and life loving, or are we thwarting that which we pursue? The ego mind is an odd thing. If you are conscious of your thoughts you will see that many of those thoughts are the antithesis of love and are constantly stonewalling the Universe, which is love and is providing us with what we desire.

So, how can you experience more love in your life? Do you have time to meet with a loved one to be in the aura of love, or are you too “busy?” If we all seek love in each moment, whether we realize it or not, why do we resist the most basic need of existence and not only connect with others in person to share that love, but why do we not turn inward to experience the love that we are? As spiritual loving being having a human experience, we must turn inward to get to know the love that resides there. This can be done through meditation, contemplation, mindfulness, or a myriad of other techniques that offer the prime essence of the Universe, love.

In closing, we already are that which we desire, we just forgot!

That reminds me of Cleveland Backster who was best known for his experiments with plants using a polygraph instrument in the 1960s which led to his theory of "primary perception" where he claimed that plants "feel pain" and have extrasensory perception (ESP), Everything is connected :-)
