Demystifying Tibet’s Spiritual Healing Traditions

This talk is perfect for those who want to learn more about authentic Tibetan healing and spiritual systems. Whether you are a healer, a Buddhist practitioner, or just an interested layman with a curiosity about traditional medicine and spiritual systems, this is a perfect opportunity to explore Tibetan mystical traditions in an accessible and relevant context. Tibetan Medicine practitioner Erik Jampa Andersson will discuss two ancient healing traditions from Tibet: Traditional Tibetan Medicine, also known as Sowa Rigpa (the Science of Healing), and the Yuthok Nyingthik (Yuthok’s Heart Essence), a complete tantric Buddhist spiritual cycle perfectly designed for modern practitioners. These ancient sister-lineages were formally established in 12th century Tibet as the “Two Jewels” of their founder, Yuthok Yönten Gönpo, though their deep roots reach back millennia into trans-Himalayan traditions. Together, these two jewels cover a wide breadth of classical wisdom, from physiological healing through diet, behaviour, herbal formulas, and manual therapies, to psycho-spiritual development through mantra, meditation, astrology, and yoga. You will learn some of the foundational principles of these systems, as well as simple therapies for common physiological and psychological imbalances. Erik Jampa Andersson is an American Sowa Rigpa practitioner and teacher based in London. He is a licensed instructor with Sorig Khang International, a global Tibetan Medicine organization founded by his teacher, Dr. Nida Chenagtsang and maintains a clinical practice in London and Los Angeles.

College of Psychic Studies
HOST:
College of Psychic Studies - The College was founded in 1884 by a group of eminent scholars and scientists. Its purpose was to facilitate formal investigation into the psychic and mediumistic phenomena that were such a topic of debate in the Victorian era. With great courage, this group of distinguished people, some notable in science, others from within the ranks of the Anglican clergy, defied the prevailing canons of respectability in order to proclaim to a world of increasing materialism that human personality survives bodily death and that this is capable of demonstration.
