Roots of Joy (RoJ) is a progressive, open and affirming gathering hosted by First Congregational Church of Anchorage. It happens every Tuesday at 7:00pm. There are many reasons that Roots of Joy exists. Here are some thoughts as to way some people attend: -It fits better for some people's schedule. -People want creative and alternative ways to explore their spirituality and practices of faith. -Musicians and artists who see their work as an expression of their spirituality need a place to explore with others. -It is a welcoming and less formal space for former practicing Christians or people who have never participated in any faith community. -RoJ is a reflection of the people who gather as we join together in supporting and building each other up. Whatever your reason for joining RoJ, we hope you will bring who you are and make something better with us.
