A Sensory Voyage - TO STIR YOUR SOUL AND AWAKEN YOUR HEART

We can be powerfully moved by art and music- they awaken our senses and inspire wonder and awe. Art and music can have the most profound impact, not only on lowering our stress levels but also on re-engaging us to the sensuous world of nature. It reminds us of what makes our heart sing and aligns us to our life purpose. In this unique workshop, Mary Attwood and Dr Angela Voss will guide you on a wonder filled, sensory voyage. Both art and music have been scientifically proven to heal and to open inner and outer eyes and ears, altering perceptions and moving us to states of receptivity, reflection, contemplation, imaginative engagement and meaningful action. This workshop will include images from the Italian Renaissance and ancient Greece, as well as music from these periods and selected classical music, created precisely for the purpose of turning our soul to awakening. The art and music of this time literally presents us with an image of the cosmos, in a sensory form. This day will allow you to: • Experience open states of receptivity: slow down the busy thinking mind to open to the greater mind of the cosmos • Rediscover through meditation, memory and imagination, the keys of your soul • Practice and cultivate your creative writing ability through image • and music Come and recharge your outer senses, the portals to a deeper knowing which bridge the threshold between the human, material experience and the ethereal. Dr Angela Voss is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she directs the MA programme in Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred. For many years she was involved in performing and researching the music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Mary Attwood is an art historian, writer, meditation and relaxation teacher. Loyal to the academinc and alternative, her work and research spans art history, Eastern and Western philosophies and studies and practices on consciousness. She holds a BA Hons degree in the History of Art where her studies focused on Italian late Medieval and Rennaissance art and architecture and she is currently undertaking a Masters degree in Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred.

College of Psychic Studies
HOST:
College of Psychic Studies - The College was founded in 1884 by a group of eminent scholars and scientists. Its purpose was to facilitate formal investigation into the psychic and mediumistic phenomena that were such a topic of debate in the Victorian era. With great courage, this group of distinguished people, some notable in science, others from within the ranks of the Anglican clergy, defied the prevailing canons of respectability in order to proclaim to a world of increasing materialism that human personality survives bodily death and that this is capable of demonstration.
