GALLERY VISIT TO THE VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM The Power of Great Art: AWAKEN YOUR SENSES, NOURISH YOUR INTELLECT AND FEED YOUR SOUL

Have you been moved by a work of art or had your curiosity ignited for reasons beyond your understanding? Coming face to face with a work of art can spark a profound energy exchange between you and the image bringing about a form of direct knowing, of intuition, in ways that looking at reproductions cannot. Seeing great art in the flesh awakens the senses and re-engages us with the world as well as what may be behind physical phenomena. We connect with the cosmic and universal forces of inspiration and creativity that great minds and artists have been connecting to for centuries. Yet frequently, the information we are given about art focuses only on the historical and thus the art we see becomes just an object to be analysed. Not only is something implicit in the image lost, we also shut down something in ourselves by not acknowledging our responses. Recent studies show we spend only a few seconds looking at art in galleries and museums. We seem to have lost the ability to know how to engage with art and the environments which now house them can feel intimidating. Yet when we approach art differently, bringing forth something from within, both us and that which we see transforms. By bringing forth your participation and response, you find the art that inspires you, that teaches, lifts, heals and awakens. It is how you find what your passions are, how you find what you love, to live the life you are meant to live. These special gallery visits are unique to The College of Psychic Studies. The emphasis will be on a broader experience of art beyond analytical critique. Together we will explore the true meaning of beauty, the esoteric, archetypal, myth, metaphor and meaning, while you engage in a transformative journey yourself. The focus will be on you as an active participant and the image, not just one or the other. Discussion will be held after your encounters and you will discover how to make meaning from your responses and weave them into your life and perceptions. Venue: The Victoria and Albert Museum, Cromwell Road, London, SW7 2RL Advance booking essential. Small group of a maximum of 12 people. College of Psychic Studies
HOST:
College of Psychic Studies - The College was founded in 1884 by a group of eminent scholars and scientists. Its purpose was to facilitate formal investigation into the psychic and mediumistic phenomena that were such a topic of debate in the Victorian era. With great courage, this group of distinguished people, some notable in science, others from within the ranks of the Anglican clergy, defied the prevailing canons of respectability in order to proclaim to a world of increasing materialism that human personality survives bodily death and that this is capable of demonstration.
