From the Roots to the Crown of Yggdrasil - A Full Day Workshop on Myths and Runes

This will be a day of storytelling, mythological insight and commentary, music, singing, runes and ceremony. Andreas Kornevall will bestow rare information covering topics as diverse as the Northern and Anglo-Saxon lost star constellations to the sacred numbers of Mithras and how they influenced runic magical practice and talismanic writing in the ancient world. Participants will be encouraged to discover for themselves what the runes signify through their life experiences using an age-old practice. Andreas will bring the major myths from the Northern tradition, where you will hear about the Norse pantheon of Gods and Goddesses. Each story, with its rich symbolic imagery, will act as a guide to the runic investigation throughout the day. It’s not obligatory, but please if you can, bring either a song, a poem, a piece of writing or a small offering, and something that represents your ancestors, for the closing ceremony. A general outline of the day will be: An introduction to the thousand-year history of the runes. Storytelling: stalking the mead of poetry, A Northern myth cycle. The runic mysteries and the sacred numbers of Mithras. Magical talismans of the ancient world - what can we learn from them? Different rune scripts and rune rows across the ages. An inner journey through the sacred tree: Yggdrasil. Finding the Anglo-Saxon lost star constellations through the poetic Edda. Story of renewal: one green shoot of hope within the ashes of the world. A personal journey - making the Nine Runes of Power - how to send, how to pray, how to bless. Ceremony: Blot Ritual to Goddess Frejya - A Ritual of Reconciliation. Sharing our discoveries - singing our ancestors home. If you are interested in witchcraft, runes, alchemy, symbolism, Norse culture and paganism then you may well be tempted by this workshop.

College of Psychic Studies
HOST:
College of Psychic Studies - The College was founded in 1884 by a group of eminent scholars and scientists. Its purpose was to facilitate formal investigation into the psychic and mediumistic phenomena that were such a topic of debate in the Victorian era. With great courage, this group of distinguished people, some notable in science, others from within the ranks of the Anglican clergy, defied the prevailing canons of respectability in order to proclaim to a world of increasing materialism that human personality survives bodily death and that this is capable of demonstration.
