Who Put the Bath in Bath Place

An illustrated talk (slides) telling the story of how a German tailor converted a Victorian Gasworks into possibly the only combined Swimming Bath and Roller Skating Rink in Britain (maybe even the world!!!). We are fortunate in Barnet to have such a wealth of history to learn about and appreciate - from Horse Fairs to the Physic Well, famous writers and now a free talk on February 3rd will shine a light on a little known area called Bath Place and environs. Tucked between the Flairline Furniture and Tony & Guy's Hair Salon is a single road leading to a cut-de-sac with businesses, homes and The Centre. So all are welcome to this free talk with slides by two very engaging speakers Andrew and Tim. There is no charge and you will be able to enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit as well at our Cafe. Young and old, history buffs or newly arrived Barnet residents will enjoy a look at the gems hidden in plain sight.
