Sat 10 June 2017
10:00 – 16:00 BST
All Friend of the Earth Scotland members are warmly invited to our Annual General Meeting on Saturday 10th June 2017
Friends of the Earth Scotland (FoES) is a democratic, grassroots organisation and the AGM is an opportunity for members to influence our direction as well as elect members of our Board. This event gives you a chance to meet the team, to learn about our campaigns and strengthen your connections with other members.
We are particularly keen to encourage newer members to attend and get fully involved.
The Friends of the Earth Scotland AGM will be held in the morning, with registration starting at 10 am for a 10:30 am start. Please remember that as a member you can put up a motion for debate or even stand for the Board. We hope to see plenty of you there and particularly encourage new members to come along. Following the AGM there will be a free lunch.
In the afternoon we will be joined by Wenonah Hauter, Executive Director of Food & Water Watch US. She’ll be discussing her new book ‘Frackopoly’ which chronicles the rise of the fracking industry and the growing movement against fracking. Plus a panel discussion with Wenonah, Andy Gheorghiu, Policy Advisor, Food and Water Europe, Mary Church, Head of Campaigns, FoE Scotland and Donald Campbell, Chair, Broad Alliance. Mairé McCormack, Board Member of FoES will lead through the afternoon.
WE NEED NEW BOARD MEMBERS!
If you would like to seek election to the FoES Board, please contact Alice Johnston on 0131 243 2724 or email@example.com for a nomination form. Your nomination will require to be supported and signed by two paid-up members of FoE Scotland and received by the Secretary no later than 14 days before the AGM (27.05.2017).
Please note: Details about eligibility to stand for the Board are available from Alice Johnston on 0131 243 2724 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
