Holistic Stress Management With CBT, Sophrology And Reiki

On the night, you can expect a warm, safe environment and a taster of the following therapies - CBT, Sophrology, Reiki - while learning alternative techniques on stress management. You will gain an insight into these three different therapeutic techniques which promote a positive wellbeing of both body and mind. What is CBT? *Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage problems such as stress and anxiety. CBT works by changing the way you think or behave. CBT is a problem - focused form of therapy. The therapist's role is to assist the client in identifying goals and decreasing symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. CBT is widely used in the NHS. What is Sophrology? *Sophrology, like mindfulness is a therapeutic discipline often used for self development. It is also used to help overcome fears or anxiety, and it is widely recommended for the release of tensions, phobias, stress and all symptoms associated with the latter: sleep disorders, relationship difficulties, loss of self-confidence. In countries like France, Switzerland and Luxembourg, medical practitioners increasingly refer their patients to Sophrologists with a view to helping them improve their condition or/and prevent new ones developing. With the help from a sophrologist, clients may feel they can at least reduce if not completely eliminate their use of medication. Sophrology takes its roots in Eastern and Western philosophies: breathing and relaxation techniques, visualisations, guided meditations combined with the release of negative tensions are examples of the techniques we use to help restore the harmony needed between body and mind in order to retain or regain our health. Common uses of Sophrology include: Exam stress/ work stress - any kind of stress Lack of concentration/ better focus on performance - any type of stage performance Sports / competitions Insomnia and other sleep disorders Fatigue and 'burnout' Preparation for an event: exam, interview, performance, in childbirth Phobias Body image or/and weight loss Anxiety What is Reiki? *Reiki is a relaxing treatment which works with the universal energy of the Earth. The client simply relaxes and feels the lovely warm energy of Reiki. The therapist is not a healer, but more of a channel for the Earth's energy to flow through. Reiki is an intelligent energy that will heal what is needed within the body either in a physical or emotional capacity. When Reiki is given to a client it is done so with only positive intentions and therefore is extremely safe to use as a complimentary treatment alongside medical diagnosis. *You will need to bring along a pillow / blanket and wear comfortable clothes for this event.
