In the fourth in a series of five workshops you will learn about the nervous and endocrine systems. These systems provide communication and co-ordination for the entire body and mind. We also take a look at the reproductive system. Bring writing material. Doe Warnes, MRSS, ITEC, BDMT has practiced theraputic bodywork for 30 years. She is a shiatsu teacher/practitioner, dance-movement therapist and EXTEND teacher. She teaches applied anatomy and physiology to students of pilates, shiatsu and massage therapists, healers, dance-movement therapist and dance performers. This series of workshops is an introduction to anatomy and physiology. Links are made between the physical body and our emotional, mental and spiritual selves in order to provide a holistic perspective to the body/mind. We will look at the basic structure and function of all the body systems throughout the workshops. This is aimed to support your healing practice as well as provide you with a common language for communicating with other health professionals. The workshops consist of lectures on anatomical concepts, guided visualisations, self-reflection and experimental exercises (single and paired). Students attending these workshops should bring their own copy of 'An Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology' text book and writing materials. The text book can be purchased from the College reception.
